Are You Our Next Employee?

by Lisa Bodell for futurecastFT logoWe're hiring for a brand-new position: Website Manager/Graphic Designer. This is a freelance opportunity requiring 20-30 hours per week with the potential for full-time employment. Our ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience and is equally capable working alone as she/he is ideating with our team. This individual views her/himself as a trusted partner for clients —not just a contractor. He/she communicates effectively with colleagues and leaders, and knows that working off-site doesn’t mean being off-the-grid. Speed is important to us, but so is quality—our ideal candidate has already learned how to balance these twin goals. We work in the innovation and change- management space, so your smart ideas on simplification or new revenue streams or even karaoke night are welcomed (and often implemented). Candidates must reside in the greater NYC area to accommodate meetings in our Manhattan office several times a month.Among our team members, we have 6 TED talks, 9 published books, and passport stamps to 100+ countries (plus, no shortage of humility). We come to work excited to empower companies like Accenture, Google, and Fidelity to solve big problems in uncommon, long-term, and transformative ways. We achieve this by building knowledge and skills in the 5 areas that are essential for innovation: Strategy, Ideas, Process, Climate, and Simplification. Using our scientific methods and ideation techniques, innovation and change become an expected (and measurable) result, not a lucky one. If we sound like a culture fit, please see the job responsibilities/skills below.

  • Expertise in HTML/CSS, and fluency in PHP and JavaScript for managing back- and front-end of our WordPress site.
  • Track record of SEO improvement for clients or previous employer.
  • Experience with InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator to update products and create new ones.
  • Strong PPT skills to create/customize sales proposals and presentations.
  • Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) video- and sound-editing in iMovie.
  • Create graphics for bi-monthly MailChimp e-letters and regularly customize coding in templates.
  • Familiarity with Litmus or similar service for proper rendering across devices and browsers.
  • Segment e-letter lists through MailChimp and Salesforce for targeted campaigns.
  • Support sales division by identifying and automating aspects of sales process wherever possible.
  • Work closely with futurethink’s lead writer on e-letter campaigns, new Web pages, and new products.
  • Establish, track, and report metrics for marketing campaigns.
  • Manage and meet multiple deadlines like a boss (even while working in your pajamas).

HOW TO APPLYQualified candidates who reside in the greater NYC area can submit a résumé and cover letter addressing why he/she is perfect for the Website Manager/Designer position AND telling us 2 Truths + 1 Lie about yourself. Please send both items and a link to your portfolio to lbodell@futurethink.com.
