Calena Jamieson

Client Relations Account Manager

Supporting multiple departments, Calena Jamieson collaborates on client proposals while managing futurethink’s innovation events and maintaining its social communications.

2 Truths and a lie

Here are some facts about Calena – which one do you think is a lie?

  1. I am hydrophobic.
  2. I was born in Jamaica.
  3. I bottled and sold my homemade barbeque sauce to other students during college.

Taking a resourceful, start-up approach to challenges, Calena is known for her communication skills and attention to detail (also her daily appetite for pad Thai).

Prior to futurethink, she was the East Coast Program Manager at Black Girls CODE, which introduces programming and technology to young and pre-teen girls of color. In this capacity, Calena led the planning and execution for computer programming workshops, positively impacting hundreds of participants in six markets. She recruited, trained, and supervised volunteer staff, as well as improved workshops through participant feedback. As the Community Engagement Strategist for Nkonde & Associates in Brooklyn, she led a social media campaign to build a community of female entrepreneurs.

While an Economics major at Tufts University in the Boston area, she served various leadership roles for the Caribbean Club on campus. Calena admits to being more than mildly obsessed with British television, especially “Absolutely Fabulous,” and with the coffee from Dunkin Donuts (always with milk, hold the sugar). On any given weekend, you’ll find her shopping for the latest seasonal product at Trader Joe’s or serving as a volunteer board member for Reach Into Cultural Heights, a nonprofit committed to changing attitudes and learning behaviors among urban youth by engaging them through innovative communications technology.
